There was a great children's book called "Biomimicry" about two years ago on the Outstanding Science Tradebooks list. Look it up.

5 Must Read for Elementary Teachers of Science
Sound, practical strategies from one of the Nation's most respected elementary science teachers makes this book a must read for not only elementary science teachers, but also professional development providers. Jo Anne takes the most important strategies and fuses them together seamlessly. For me, this is the one book I would give to any K-8 teacher of science to help him/her "get it right." Who but Jo Anne Vasquez could provide us with such practical wisdom!
