I'm a big fan of connecting reading to other subjects because reading is such a fundamental part of learning. Being able to apply science should to solve a problem posed in these stories not only helps develop those skills but reading skills as well. Definitely a great strategy to utilize in the classroom.

5 Collection review
Karina did a really good job of not only finding reliable sources of information for this collection, but finding sources that relate to her lesson topic as well. They are very interesting as well as reader friendly so that they are easy to understand and relate to. She not only has articles , but interavtive scipack activities as well. Both activities do a good job of developing the concept of food chains and interdependence. The article by Christene Anne Royce is a great asset. It even details a 5 E activity that deals with the concept of food chains. As new teachers resources like these are definitely valuable. Karina did an excellent job of utilizing the different resources available on this website in order to create a collection the could prove beneficial to many different teachers.
