Hi, my name is Gilberto Garcia. I teach fifth grade at Christopher Dena in Los Angeles area. My focus at my school are math, science and technology. I enjoy working with other educators, private/public organizations and members of my district to bring new ideas and projects to my community. Hello Jen, Many time teachers can do interdisciplinary units where you teach multiple subjects. During a science lesson you are teaching reading, note taking, writing (journal entry), collecting data (computation/math), social studies (maping,geography). It comes down to good planning and collaboration with other teachers or staff at your school.

I think this a great tool for students to understand the importance of oceans temperatures and its effects on the climate of specific areas in the world. Many students go through school without learning this concept!!
