Howdy Everyone! I am currently at senior at the University of Houston, which is a Tier 1 school located in Houston, TX. I am currently student teaching and really enjoying it. Nicolette, I think using a book as a read aloud is a great way to have 1st graders engaged from the get-go, as you are doing, provided you are animated when you read it! Read with expression and be alive!
