I am a learner and have been teaching for about 35 years. Teaching K-8th over those years has increased my desire to learn as much as I can. This year I will be working on my National Board Certification renewal along with continuing my education. My students teach me so much and are a joy each and every day.

Some great ideas that everyone has posted. When I began teaching, our 4th grade team had to write units for social studies and science. Then we would sit as a team and review the units deciding what could be added/deleted to fit our standards a little better. Really informative article to find out where our students are before we get into the learning. I think it would be good for students to go back after the unit and update their initial response...maybe even using a different color for it to stand out. That could be used as a great assessment.
