I currently serve as a science education consultant, which includes serving as a Professional Learning Facilitator for NSTA. Much of my current work is focused on teacher and district support as they implement the NGSS or state standards that integrate 3-dimensional teaching and learning. Previously, I spent over 30 years with the Omaha Public Schools. I spent 20 years as a middle and high school classroom teacher, primarily in the biological sciences. I then spent 10 years in leadership, ending my OPS career as Project Director for Omaha's National Science Foundation Urban Systemic Program. I served on the NSTA Board as Director of Coordination and Supervision, stay active on various NSTA committees and am an author for NSTA Press (Hard to Teach Biology Concepts). I am Past President of National Science Education Leadership Association and Past President of the the Nebraska Association of Teachers of Science.
