I am currently a senior at the University at Texas at Tyler majoring in Elementary Education. It was not until a few years ago that I found my passion for education. After beginning college, I changed my major a few different times before taking a couple of semesters off to discover what I wanted to do in life. After weighing all the factors, my love for kids, my creative ability, and my passion for learning and reading made it evident that teaching was it! My interest in education was sparked by my fourth grade teacher who made learning fun and interesting. I believe that if you can make learning enjoyable for students, that they become more eager to learn and participate. Once I graduate, I hope to teach kindergarten.
My main academic goal at this stage in college career is to learn how to effectively teach all subjects to children with varying academic levels, including students with disabilities. I really enjoy science, mostly the hands-on aspect that comes along with it. The
