I am entering my 13th year of teaching, and this will be my 11th year of teaching fifth grade math. My goal includes incorporating the 5E Lesson Plan into my lessons, as well as technology. Hobbies include English Cocker Spaniels and photography.

Teaching fifth grade math, I always appreciate the science classes incorporating data collection and graphing into their science lessons. The reinforcement, as well and additional detail and requirements for another subject really help to reinforce this important concept for the students.

5 Five Good Reasons to Use Science Notebooks
I have learned and experience such valuable things this week by keeping a notebook, and this article provided many specific positives, as well. Used as thinking tools, enhancing writing skills, giving teachers access into student thinking (what they understand and don't understand), and especially fostering teacher collaboration. As I will have the opportunity this school year to collaborate with 6 other grade level math teachers (the first time in 11 years), the notebooks will be an excellent resource in our planning and assessing.
