Thank you so much for your great tips and advice. I wrote a letter to our school nurse today to see if she knows of any students with furry pet allergies on file. I may have to hold off bringing in the guinea pig until the school year begins to ask my students about that. I like the idea of consulting my classes for their ideas on fairness. I am going to have a guinea pig as a classroom pet for the first time in the Fall. It is very exciting to see how the behavior of this small animal can stimulate inquiry. My family and I were visiting Washington DC and were at a relative's house in Reston, Virginia when the storm hit the area at about 9:30 pm.
