I am a pre-service teacher in my last year of college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Hoping to learn more about science in and out of the classroom through the NSTA Learning Center and community.

Thanks so much for the great ideas, James! That experiment sounds like a lot of fun! Thanks so much, Megan! You all gave me such great resources, I'm wondering how to fit all of these great ideas in my lessons now!

I am currently putting together a lesson plan that will introduce fifth graders about matter. We will be learning about the 3 states of matter and the reasons why matter can change it's physical form. What fun and safe activities, or investigations, can display chemical and physical changes in the classroom?
