Building a telescope is one of the options my Astronomy students have for a project in my class. My students actually have a lot of difficulties finding regular lenses to buy and so they have used old reading glasses instead. It does seem to work, but does anyone know where I could suggest for students to buy actual lenses?

There is a good activity that I use with my students called Musical Plates: The students use real time data to plot the location of earthquakes and volcanoes to discover the location of plate boundaries. I've used it for a couple of years now and the students seem to really enjoy it.

I have done the Nike Shoe lab before and the students really seem to enjoy it.
