I am a Professor of Science Education at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. I was raised in New Jersey and that is why I am a lifelong Yankee fan. I was an elementary teacher and Middle School teacher for 10 years in Byron and Concord, California.
Honors: I was named Michigan Science Teachers Association College Teacher of the Year 2013. Online Schools Michigan named me one of the Top 25 education professors in Michigan for 2012.
Teaching: I teach elementary science methods to elementary pre-service teachers. I also teach graduate courses .
Involvements: I am the faculty advisor for the NSTA preservice chapter at CMU. I am also the Director of the Central Michigan GEMS Education Center which was founded in January 2005. The Center hosts workshops for teachers and pre-service teachers; a Super Saturday math and science program for children ages preschool to fifth grade (three sessions twice per year).
