Davida Pantuso

Hi! My name is Davida. After teaching Earth science for 10 years and running professional development programs for the Geological Society of America for 5 years, I have decided to return to school. This fall I began my doctorate program at Kent State University where I will focus my research on field education. While at GSA, I ran multiple field camps for teachers and I am looking forward to researching the benefits that teachers gain from studying geology in the field!

Hello! I'm looking for some new science books to read.  Do you have a book that you really enjoyed, couldn't put down, or really left you thinking?  It doesn't matter if the book is for adults or children.  I'm simply looking to add to my reading collection. Thanks in advance! Davida

5 Excellent Ideas for Any Grade
I loved this article and I think this is an excellent idea to get students excited about learning science. My Own Science (MOS), is very easy to implement and it allows students to explore areas of science that interest them. MOS works at any grade level and it can be a great substitute for Science Fairs if you aren't able to do one at your school. I feel this activity can be modified for any grade level and I will be using this activity with pre-service college students. Hopefully, they will be able to use MOS in their science classrooms.
