I am a undergraduate at Saint Peter's University obtaining my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I am now apart of the graduate program to receive my dual certification with Special education within Elementary Education. Currently, I am taking additionally courses to receive my certification to teach middle school math.

Songs are definitely a good way for the younger students to learn. Since they love to move around and they can not sit through a full lesson, having them memorize songs and dances would enhance the lessons. Videos of what is being taught to the students would also help their comprehension. For example, showing a video on flowers growing if you are teaching them about petals, roots, and seeds.

Homework packets for the week would be an effective way to issue homework to the younger students. Everything would be directly there for them and they do not have to scatter through folders and notebooks to complete 4 different sheets of homework. Yes! Having a class garden would be so meaningful for the students. It is also a great way to introduce certain components of the growing process like the roots, plants, the vegetable, and the seeds.
