How to Avoid Disqualification in ExploraVision?
This Web Seminar took place on January 12, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern
Time. Presenting was Brian Short from NSTA and Jonathan Gastel from Stuyvesant High
School New York, NY. The presenters provided an overview of the ExploraVision program
and specific tips on how to avoid disqualification.

The presenter provided information on the basic components of ExploraVision program
with an emphasis on the most common items that cause disqualification. Jonathan
Gastel shared his experience as a mentor in the program, to give participants the
‘insider’s view’ of the competition. The participants asked a large number of questions
that were answered by Brian and Jonathan. Individuals who are competing in the program
for this year are encouraged to view the archive to help them appropriately prepare
Twenty-six (26) participants were present at the live Web Seminar in addition to
the presenters and NSTA staff. Participating educators represented the states of
Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina,
South Dakota and Virginia. One participant joined the presentation from a country
outside of the United States: Canada.
Seminar participants received one of the NSTA SciGuides. A certificate
