How to Avoid Disqualification in ExploraVision

This web seminar took place on January 7, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. eastern standard time. The presenters were Rachael Schmidt, Program Manager of ExploraVision at NSTA; Heidi Walter, a teacher at John Ross Elementary School in Edmond, Oklahoma; and Pat Killian, a teacher at The Alternative School for Math and Science in Corning, New York.


In this program the presenters shared details on the ExploraVision competition and provided tips to help teams comply with the rules for submission. Ms. Schmidt introduced participants to the history and components of the competition, then described the prizes that teams can potentially win. Ms. Killian and Ms. Walter reviewed the competition rules, provided tips for meeting formatting guidelines, and shared insights from their own experiences coaching winning teams. Ms. Schmidt wrapped up the seminar by discussing the judging process at the regional and national levels.
