How to Avoid Disqualification in ExploraVision
This Web Seminar took place on January 13, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Presenting was Karen McClennen, teacher at Merion Mercy Academy in Merion Station, Pennsylvania, and Brian Short from NSTA. The presenters provided tips on how to avoid disqualification when submitting ExploraVision entries.
The presenter provided information on the basic components of ExploraVision entries, facts about disqualification, the required entry components, and information regarding the regional and national judging. The presenters also talked about using the online application process and how that process helps to avoid some of the commonly made errors. Members of the NSTA and Toshiba teams attended the program and assisted Ms. McClennan and Mr. Short by answering participants’ questions on the chat window.
Nineteen (19) participants were present at the live Web Seminar in addition to the presenters and NSTA staff. Participating educators represented the states of Arizona, Connecticut, Iowa,
Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. One person attended from Canada.
Seminar participants received a one year subscription to one of NSTA’s SciGuides and a certificate of attendance was deposited into their My Transcript area in the NSTA Learning Center for completing the evaluation form at the end of the program.
Here are some comments provided by the participants at the end of the Web Seminar:
- “Excellent information!”
