The NSTA Learning Center: Free Professional Learning Resources for Educators
View the series

This web seminar took place on April 8, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. eastern daylight time. The presenter was Flavio Mendez, Senior Director of the NSTA Learning Center.

Mr. Mendez began the web seminar by explaining the kinds of tools that are available in the NSTA Learning Center, and more specifically, which and how many of those resources are free of charge and accessible to non-NSTA members. He then went on to demonstrate three activity simulations for teachers to try out and report on, as an example of the types of tools available to them. The web seminar then focused on defining the various tools of the Learning Center through a tour of the platform. Throughout the tour, participants were asked to go to the Learning Center themselves to complete specific search tasks and report back to the larger group. The session then ended with Flavio Mendez taking any last questions and informing participants that they would receive a free SciPack of their choice for their participation in the web seminar.
