Sheila Smith Sheila Smith is a science education consultant. She taught high school biology for 24 years and spent nine years as a district administrator. She has served as the NSF project director for a multimillion dollar mathematics and science grant and as the co-principal investigator for a math and science partnership grant with Jackson State University. She is a past president of the Mississippi Science Teachers Association and past regional coordinator for the National Association of Biology Teachers. In addition, she has served on several NSTA committees. Smith serves on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, and is the current chairperson for the NSTA Teacher Awards and Recognition Committee.
