Leaders for Science Education: Preparing an Application for the NSTA Board and Council

This web seminar took place on September 3, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. eastern daylight time. The presenter was Elizabeth Mulkerrin, chair of the NSTA nominations committee. In this program Mulkerrin shared information about NSTA's leadership structure and provided tips on applying for nomination to the 2015-16 board and council.

Elizabeth Mulkerrin introduced the web seminar with an overview of the main steps required to complete an NSTA Board or Council nomination, the accompanying documentation that is required, as well the list of 2015 Offices to be filled. Elizabeth then focused the main part of the seminar on the detailed criteria of the positions as well as the exact biographical data required for the nominations -- all the while fielding specific questions from participants along the way. She then finalized the seminar by describing the benefits of holding a Board or Council position, speaking to her own experiences, and answering any final questions.
