Using the NSTA Learning Center as an Online Textbook for Teaching Science Pre-service Teachers

This web seminar took place on June 10, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern time. Presenters were Flavio Mendez, NSTA, and Carolyn Mohr, Dominican University, IL.


Mendez gave an overview of the NSTA Learning Center and described how it can be used as an online textbook when teaching science pre-service teachers. Mohr shared examples of successful application in pre-service teacher classrooms and answered questions from professors in the audience. Seminar participant Kate Baird from Indiana University also answered questions from members of the audience via text chat.
