The NSTA Learning Center: A Tool to Develop Science Pre-Service Teachers
This web seminar took place on April 28, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Eastern time. The presenter was Flavio Mendez, Senior Director of the NSTA Learning Center. Professors of science education who have used NSTA resources and the Learning Center with science pre-service teachers Carolyn Mohr, Jeanelle Day, and Richard Jones answered questions from the audience.
Mr. Mendez gave an overview of the NSTA Learning Center and described how it can be used as an online textbook when teaching science pre-service teachers. He shared examples of successful application in pre-service teacher classrooms and then invited guest professors Mohr, Day, and Jones to share their experiences using the Learning Center with teacher candidates and to answer questions from the audience.
