External Resource

This activity guide is based around the video Science Investigations: Investigating the Earth's Surface, which is available for purchase through the Discovery Store Channel. After watching the video, students will be able to discuss the use of satellites, including GPS application; compare satellite images of locations and describe the natural forces that shape them; identify additional landforms shaped by these forces, and create a "forces of nature" document. An additional PDF guide is available with directions for a simple activity demonstrating how caves and speleothems are formed. Topics include: NASA, deposition, erosion, GPS, limestone, sandstone, satellite, and weathering.
