The authors examined if a small incentive (points added to the final) could impact student attitude towards a post-test. They found that such an incentive does increase student motivation for performing well on post tests. Instructors who utilize pre/post tests to assess student growth will find this article useful, especially the methods section which can be modified to suit their individual classes.
