This article introduces two great trade books with accompanying activities at both the K-3 and 4-6 grade levels. Students will surely be engaged in learning as they explore fossils by creating and digging up their own fossils. Since the activities are directly tied to trade books, students will not only benefit from a hands-on lesson, but will also create connections to literature.
