A nature walk may serve many purposes. The first might be getting young children comfortable with observing nature and making that experience positive. Looking for water sources for birds makes young children understand birds and their needs. The activity in this article is a simple one about observing birds in the schoolyard. Collecting and recording data is a beginning nature of science activity.
