PEO=Prediction, Explanation, and Observation. Page Keeley has shared another excellent formative assessment on floating objects. Students are asked what would happen if holes are put in an object that floats in water. This article gives an excellent explanation of the thought process of young children and explains the science behind the activity. Ms. Keeley explains the steps of the PEO technique.
