When you can only do one or two field trips in a school year, you have to make informed decisions about where to go and what to do. The author of this article was a formal educator turned information educator. So she knows both sides of the fence so to speak. This article gives a detailed way of analyzing possible field trips to informal science institutions to take with your class. If you cannot take field trips for some reason, it also gives information on how to bring the programs to your class.
