This article is about latex and latex allergies. Latex is in many more places in our world than just in latex gloves. With the use of latex gloves in the classroom students who might be unaware that they have this allergy can react to this material. This article provides all the information needed to be better informed about this allergy, what causes it, the reactions that are possible and more importantly how to prevent it.

It is important for teachers to be careful with using latex in the classroom. There may be students who have an diagnosed latex allergy. i would have both latex and latex free gloves for my students to use when working in the lab.
