This article helps teachers guide parents to use trade books to promote scientific literacy at home. This article introduces two techniques that a parent can use to accomplish this goal. The first is called ‘sketch-to-sketch’ and is explained in this article. The second approach is called ‘thinking-aloud’ and this also is explained in this article. This article might be something a teacher can handout to parents during a parent conference.
