It is the beginning of another school year and, after teaching sixth-grade life science for 15 years, you are now asked to teach eighth-grade Earth science! Panic sets in and you begin to feel like a first-year teacher all over again. The author provides suggestions for how to teach a new topic or subject for experienced teachers who haven't done so in a while. This article is not only useful for them, but new teachers might be reassured to know the same strategies (and that they are not always the only ones trying new things!).
