Diversity in most environments is critical to success. Science instruction with the implementation of robotics could provide girls with the needed impetus to consider fields in engineering and computer science, which are traditionally dominated by males. Robots offer the opportunity for creative expression, problem solving, constructivist learning, mathematics, and computer programming. This article describes various robotics-related activities that can be presented in the classroom to foster positive attitudes toward careers in robotics among girls while engaging students in minds-on, hands-on learning experiences.

This is a great article on the research supporting the use of robots within the curriculum, especially in relation to girls. There is a short list of resources at the end of the article on the "where to find" of robotics. Overall, while the article does not offer the "how to" of robot teaching, it does provide the research and resources to help move the idea of teaching using robots forward in your classroom.

Robots are traditionally thought of as a male dominated engineering field but encouraging girls to participate allows their creativeness to develop and exposes them to problem solving, challenging math skills, computer programming and constructivist learning. The article outlines the standards that this endeavor reaches as well as provides a starting point. This is an excellent article and from experience I know that girls are good at this task.

This article gives several good ideas and strategies for inspiring girls in science by using robotics. The activities outlined are easy to set-up and will engage young learners as they accomplish robotics tasks. This is a good article for anyone looking to incorporate a robotics activity in their classroom.
