This article presents a series of engaging student centered activities and a project on animal locomotion. This vertebrate trackway analysis is a NGSS based integration of engineering and math into biology and earth science classes. Students collect and analyze data on human stride patterns and dinosaur trackways to study the biomechanics of animal locomotion. There are excellent web based resources provided to assist with classroom implementation.
