Prospective elementary teachers explore the use of classroom technologies in a university setting. Bringing "real" elementary students to the science methods classes helped them see how technology can be used effectively.

STEP means Science and Technology Experiences course from Penn State. This particular event for preservice teachers is designed to make them become aware of and comfortable with classroom technology. In this particular article the technology is probes. The preservice teacher learns to use it in a university course and then to apply to elementary students when they are brought into the university of a learning day.
